around the region but also brings in competitors from Europe as
it is the only Asian qualifier for the toughest duathlon - Powerman
Zofingen, held yearly in Switzerland. For more information about

::
Malakoff University Duathlon Series (MUDS) ::
Organised in 2003, this race was a spin-off from the MMDS race series,
but in Universities to harness younger talent and give university
sports clubs a feel of organising races. The Universities that were
selected were presented with bicycles to their sport clubs to start
them off. The race took place in 3 local universities and grew the
base athletes that raced in local series MMDS as well as Powerman
Malaysia.
::

by Malaysian National Cycling Federation, the race attracted about
50 BMX-ers - both participating and watching the event.
::
MIA Space Race - City Adventure Race ::
In April 2007, QRA organised a city adventure
race in Kuala Lumpur to promote the Malaysian International Aerospace
Exhibition held in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007. This
2-day stage race saw teams of 2 racing to complete questions, tasks
and challenges that were either Space or Tourism/Cultural related
in several locations. To see pictures of the race, click

:: Club Series – Team Time Trial Series ::
The other race was a Team Time Trial Series which is a 4-person
per team format road cycling race. The Team Time trial was fun as
it was the team that worked best together that won the race and
not necessarily the team with the best rider. The first race was
on a flat course from Puchong to Putrajaya and back. The second
race was uphill in Genting Sempah and even saw an all-female team
coming in 8th out of 11 teams.

:: Club Series –
King of Kiara Series ::
In 2003, QRA organized some local club races under the Lumba Haram
Series banner, King of Kiara Series which is a mountain bike race
in Kiara saw many vie for the ‘Penghulu of Kiara’ title.
Some traveled from as far as Hong Kong to take part in the mountain
bike race series. This eventually matured into the KL Mountain Bike
Carnival event for the masses.
These local club races were started to create some interest in racing
and also participation amongst the cycling communities.
